5 a.m.Peering outside5 a.m.
Deep blue light trickles
Between bare, spindly branches
Hazy aquatic mist
Embraces the trees.
The door to the playhouse peeks open
Beckoning me to wade
Into unearthly fog.
Later
Harsh sun beats down from above
The playhouse sits faded, its red paint peeling
The door now closed.
No one else will know the sight
Revealed by the dawning light
It's a secret between me
And the sky.
